Back in the mid-Nineties I saw this model of a Lamborghini Diablo made by Bburago in 1/18 scale, completely chrome plated ... but it was rather expensive as it was a limited edition made for the 'Bijenkorf', a Dutch based distribution chain.

As I couldn't afford it back then I wasn't able to get one for my collection at that time, and when I was able to get a high level model like this I couldn't locate it anymore

From time to time I did see some chromed Diablo models show up on eBay and other second hand sites, but none of these were the real deal, so I never did get my 'Bijenkorf' Diablo ... until now.

I visited a local Italian car event that also host several model car stands ... and behold, one of them had a real chromed, limited edition Diablo for sale ... it wasn't cheap, but priced at what I felt was worth it.

After all I've been waiting for over 15 years to add one of these to my collection, and finally I was able to complete the Bburago Diablo series I have.

A own every color officially made by Bburago and some custom painted ones, I even have a 25kt gold plated one, and now the chromed one, safe to say I'm very happy with this new addition.

As it is based on a Bburago model made in 1994 it is nowhere near as nice as an AutoArt, but that's not the point either, this is a collector's item in it's own right, just because it's a Bburago doesn't mean it can't be very rare, special and highly exclusive.

And this model was complete with a perfect box and it even included the correct, 1994 catalog Bburago packed with it's models ... these catalog get lost most of the time, but this one still had it, making the deal even better.

It has received a very nice place among my collection and it will remain a rare model anyway.
