At the time of writing, I own 32 different 1/18 scale Lamborghini Miura models made by Kyosho, but before adding this new one, none of those was the original P400 version finished in yellow, so I just couldn’t resist adding this re-release from Kyosho to the collection too, and when you count all 1/18 scale Miura in my collection, the counter sits proudly at 50 units.
Many years ago Kyosho already released a nice series of Lamborghini Miura P400 models on a 1/18 scale, naturally a red one, but also gold painted one, which happened to be a limited edition model, so rather rare these days, later on Kyosho also released the P400 in blue and in black, both difficult to locate today too, but the rarest of them all has to be the famous Tricolore edition, linked to the Circuit Wolf series because it was decorated by Satoshi Ikezawa, but it isn’t one of the four Kyosho Lamborghini from the Circuit Wolf Museum Series, albeit the Tricolore Miura P400 was limited to just 1,000 units.
In June 2025, Kyosho released three new Lamborghini Miura P400 models, again a red one, but also an orange one and a beautiful white one, these new models were quite different compared to the original release a few decades ago, and rumor had it there would be a fourth one released ... which took a few months, but now we finally have the option of adding the Lamborghini Miura in yellow.
The official name of this color was actually Giallo Miura back in the Sixties, and it’s a nice shade of yellow, Kyosho opted for an all-black interior in this new release, it would have been nice to see a blue interior instead, which was an option back in those days, but black works too, combined with the silver lower side panels and silver knock-off wheels.
We’ve already seen the attention to detail from Kyosho on the three earlier shades, but this yellow one is just as nicely finished, the steering wheel looks amazing, the two large dials behind the steering wheel are clearly visible, as is the array of dials on the central console, while the gear shifter proudly portrudes from the open gated grate, just like it does on the real Lamborghini Miura. No four-point racing harness in this classic Miura, instead, a nice lap belt is all we got in the Sixties.
Underneath the front section, we find a spare tire, the battery and the fuel filler cap, which is actually reachable by opening the right hood vent, another detail perfectly executed on this Kyosho scale model, even a bright red horn is present in the front, along with a nicely detailed suspension setup, amazing work from Kyosho, as we’ve become used to over the years.
Opening the engine cover on a Lamborghini Miura is always impressive, the entire rear section of the car pivots, revealing a rather compact 4-Liter V12 engine mounted transversaly behind the two occupants of the cockpit, only a thin windows separating your ears from a quad set of tripple Weber carburettors drawing air into them underneath Fiam air filters, all nicely replicated by Kyosho on this scale model.
Personally, I believe the 1/18 scale Lamborghini Miura from Kyosho is a must-have in any supercar collection, the Miura was the first supercar in the world, and Kyosho replicated this model ever so nicely on a smaller scale, the only question you should ask yourself is which of the available colors you should go for, this yellow is really nice, I also love the white one, but my favorite has to be the red one, Rosso just looks amazing on a Miura, but that’s just my personal preference, you should go for the color you like most, or which is still missing in your collection.
