This AUTOart model has been sold out for years, some online shops still have one or two of these in stock, but usually these are listed at €299 or more, and while I do like to add odd items like this to my collection, it has remained a 'nice to have' for years ... until I visited the AUTOart booth at the 2019 Essen Motor Show.

They had two or three of these Lamborghini Murciélago pewter sculptures on sale for only €50 each, so as you might expect I didn't hesitate long to pick out the best looking of them and add it to my collection, finally I was able to add this very rare AUTOart item to my collection without paying the normal retail price.

Keep in mind these pewter sculptures were hand-polished by someone at AUTOart, in a horizontal direction to give the impression of 'speed streaks' over the length of the model, it looks absolutely amazing in real life, almost a work of art.

What did surprise me was the weight of these sculptures ... they are 3.5 kg in fact, that's very heavy for this size of model, which to me looks like 1/18, so they fit perfectly into my collection. Some people talk about a brick of resin when you buy an MR or GT Spirit model ... but this AUTOart model actually is a brick of pewter, and I love it.
