I am always looking round for new Lamborghini models, and when I saw a listing for a 1/43 scale Lamborghini Aventador made by Hotwheels in their Elite series I put in my order at once ... took about a week to arrive on my doorstep as it came all the way from Hong Kong, but when I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised to be honest.
Note that this is a little model, I prefer the large 1/18 models to be honest, so a 1/43 is considered small in my book, but still all the details are there, but I did notice these Aventador models aren't on the same level as the Hotwheels Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce models ... this new Aventador model is not as nicely detailed.
The paint is applied rather thick, this shows on the corners, there are no sharp edges on this 1/43 from Hotwheels, there is just too much paint to see the sharp lines from the real car, now this being a black model you don't see this at first glance, and that's a good thing here, I really like the black Lamborghini Aventador from Hotwheels, much better than their white version, more on that in the review of this light shade.
Hotwheels has been releasing Lamborghini models in their 1/43 Elite series for a while now, and I have all of them, the Miura Concept, the Reventon, the Murcielago LP640-4 and the Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce ... and now the Aventador, and I must admit this latter one is the least one in details and quality.
But still if you aren't prepared to spend a lot of money on either the Looksmart or the MR version on the Aventador in 1/43 these Hotwheels Elite are a perfect choice to complete your collection, and they sure look right on the shelve between the other Raging Bull in this scale.
Bottom line : should you buy it ? Yes, these aren't too expensive and still look very nice ... and what's even more important : at this moment these are the only 1/43 model on the Lamborghini Aventador apart from the much more expensive Looksmart models, so this Hotwheels Elite version is the best bet for your money right now.
