Among Lamborghini's illustrious lineup of exotic supercars, the Islero S remains one of the marque's most understated and elegant grand tourers. Overshadowed by the dramatic Miura and later Countach, the Islero S has developed a devoted following among enthusiasts who appreciate its refined styling, exclusivity, and V12 pedigree. Capturing this often-overlooked masterpiece in miniature, a 1/18 scale Lamborghini Islero S finished in Silver Metallic (or Argento) over a Nero interior, we now have a very nice alternative to the expensive Cult Model from KK Scale.

Introduced in 1969 as an evolution of the original Islero, the Islero S represented Lamborghini's vision of a high-performance grand tourer. Powered by the company's legendary 4.0-liter V12, the S variant featured subtle styling updates and increased performance, making it one of the finest GT cars of its era. While production numbers remained low, the Islero S earned a reputation for combining comfort, speed, and exclusivity in a package that was distinctly Lamborghini.

At 1/18 scale, details such as the front grille, pop-up headlights, delicate window surrounds, and period-correct Miura-style knock-off wheels become focal points. The silver finish on this specific scale model allows these elements to stand out without overwhelming the eye, resulting in a display piece that rewards close inspection.

The black interior provides a striking contrast to the silver exterior, creating a timeless color combination often favored by discerning buyers of grand touring cars. To be honest, I prefer the dark red interior of the Cult Scale Models version, but this KK Scale version certainly looks equally detailed.

Whether displayed alongside other classic Lamborghinis such as the 400 GT 2+2 or Espada from KK Scale, this new 1/18 scale Lamborghini Islero S commands attention through refinement rather than excess, a trademark among these classic Lamborghini V12 GT models.

Naturally, I couldn’t resist posing this new addition to the collection next to the Cult Scale Models version in a similar Argento paint, and while that model was rather nice, I have to admit this KK Scale version is at least equally as good, if not better in some details, and let’s not forget, at a much more reasonable price point.

When released, the Cult Scale Models Lamborghini Islero was listed at close to €200. I managed to buy mine when the weekend discount was around, so I ended up paying just €149 for it, but these new KK Scale versions are just €72, effectively half the price.

And let’s consider the fact that you can’t buy the Cult Scale Models anymore, no dealer has them in stock at the time of writing, so I would expect prices have gone up even more, and in that case I can wholeheartedly advice you to get one of the four colors KK Scale offers on this model, being this Argento, but also a beautiful burgundy red, a light green metallic, and a light blue metallic.
