In the Ibaraki Prefecture in Japan, you'll be able to visit the Circuit Wolf Museum, created as a celebration of Circuit Wolf, a pivotal manga by Satoshi Ikezawa that helped ignite Japan's supercar craze in the 1970s. Hence, the museum features some amazing classic supercars on display, ranging from Ferraris and Lamborghinis to Porsches and Toyotas, most of which are in the original livery, and some of these cars remain fully functional to this date.

Back in 2010, Kyosho released several 1/18 scale models in their 'The SuperCars of the Circuit Wolf Museum' series, among them were four different Lamborghini types, it took me many years, but with this black Lamborghini Countach LP400, I finally completed the entire series.

The Lamborghini Countach LP400 by Kyosho

From what I have found out during my search, these Circuit Wolf Museum editions from Kyosho were only sold in Japan, and they were never available in shops outside of Japan, and as I'm located in Europe, these models are extremely hard to find over here, which is why it took me quite some time to gather all four Lamborghini 'The Circuit Wolf' models, as three of them had to be imported from outside of the EU.

The first one I managed to add to the collection was the green Lamborghini Urraco P250, distinguishing itself from the regular release only in details, like the Japanese license plate, different turn signals up front, and a different interior, my second The Circuit Wolf from Kyosho was probably the rarest 1/18 scale Lamborghini model in the world, the orange Miura S.

At one point in time I had the impression this model didn't even exist in real life, I had never seen it listed for sale, and when I searched, only one or two, very small thumbnail photos showed up, I probably didn't search hard enough, because suddenly I saw one being listed on eBay, from Germany, safe to say I've added it to the collecting instantly.

Subsequently, the red Lamborghini Miura SVR The Circuit Wolf was added from a seller in Taiwan. This model didn't have a Japanese license plate, but still had a bespoke interior compared to the regular Miura SVR in red, and a large number '6' on the front hood and both doors.

So, only this black Lamborghini Countach LP400 The Circuit Wolf was still missing, I found one in Hong Kong, which meant it had to be imported into the EU in the end, the model got stuck at customs for four weeks, but when it finally arrived, it looked amazing for a 15-year-old, black Kyosho diecast.

So this The Circuit Wolf version of the Lamborghini Countach LP400 in black is different from the regular diecast release in a few ways, the big '12' at the front and on the doors immediately jumps into your eye, but also the interior is completely different. The regular release has a full black interior; this Circuit Wolf edition comes with a tan interior and a brown dashboard, which looks so much better inside a black Countach.

After many years of patience, searching, and a bit of luck, I now have all four Kyosho-made Lamborghini models from their The SuperCars of the The Circuit Wolf series, and they look absolutely amazing side by side in my display, nicely behind glass doors to avoid dust, and inside a climate controlled room, just to try and avoid paint rash on these classic diecast models.
