Back in 2019 you could go into a pop-up Bburago Experience shop during the Zoute Grand Prix event in Belgium, pay €100 for a 1/24 scale Lamborghini Huracan model from Bburago, and be entered into a competition where you could win a real Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 ... for a year.

2019 marked the 10th anniversary of The Zoute Grand Prix in Knokke, Belgium, during which this Bburago model was available in either green or yellow, the actual real Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 you would win to drive for one year was green, so after I was able to add the yellow one to the collection, I just had to get the green one too, as these were some higher-end Bburago models that came inside a very stylish box, mounted on a heavy plinth and inside a display case.

It seems there was an order for 5,000 of these models, but they only managed to sell about half of them before the competition ended and one lucky 'Bburago Experience member' received a real Lamborghini Huracan to enjoy for one year, complete with fuel and all costs paid.

Fast forward to April 2024 and suddenly several online model car stores offered this model for just €25, I think the remaining stock of models that didn't get sold back in 2019 somehow turned up somewhere and went into regular retail now, they all come in the same brown cardboard box, with the Bburago Experience slipcase over the plinth and display cover, the only thing missing from these is the individually numbered 'Membership' card that was glued into the cardboard box of those that were sold in 2019, but other than that, the 2024 stock seems exactly the same.

The scale model

I have to mention the packaging of this limited-edition Bburago 1/24 scale model is absolutely amazing, a brown cardboard box contains the model itself being fixed on top of a very heavy, carbon-look plinth with a cover, inside a stylish hexagon protection sleeve.

The inside of the sleeve for this version is green, while on the yellow model the sleeve is yellow on the inside, a very nice detail, albeit the model itself looks like the regular Bburago 1/24 Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4, no side windows, a very simple engine with very little detail, and an all-black interior, apart from the bespoke The Zoute decals there doesn't seem to be any difference between this one and the standard model.

But it's a nice item to add to the collection, usually, I don't get too many 1/24 or 1/43 scale Bburago models, but this one caught my eye when I saw them being listed, so I decided to add the green one to the collection so I have both shades, just a nice-to-have model.
